In Ecuador: a country of vastly diverse ecological zones, approximately 36% live in rural areas with large amount of these persons affected by poverty. As the middle class shrinks, the divisive and visible differences between those that have, and those that have not, increase. These images are representative from the small towns in the Sierra, Coastal, and Amazon Regions. Within each of these regions cultural differences are visible. The photos consist of families and individuals I spent time visiting and working with, while developing a program as a media coordinator with an Ecuadorean Volunteer Initiative.
